The Gardens North County District Park
Palm Beach Gardens
The Gardens North County District Park is an 82-acre film-friendly sports and recreation park in Palm Beach Gardens featuring seven lighted multipurpose fields, two playgrounds, splash pads, six pavilions, nature trails, open green space, and 23.6 acres of preserve.
The Gardens North County District Park is an 82-acre Palm Beach County-owned property operated by the City of Palm Beach Gardens, offering a large and versatile setting for film, television, commercials, sports productions, and photography. Located in northern Palm Beach County, the park combines professionally maintained athletic facilities with family recreation areas, landscaped spaces, nature trails, and preserved natural areas.
The park's seven lighted multipurpose fields provide substantial production opportunities for sports and athletic scenes. The fields can accommodate a variety of sports and configurations, including soccer, football, lacrosse, rugby, field hockey, archery, and other field-based activities. State-of-the-art LED sports lighting allows for evening recreation and creates additional options for productions requiring nighttime athletic settings.
Beyond the athletic fields, the park offers a strong collection of family and youth-oriented environments. Two playgrounds, including zipline features, two splash pads, six covered pavilions, permanent restrooms, concession facilities, and open gathering areas can provide settings for family outings, community events, summer activities, school scenes, children's programming, and lifestyle productions.
The park also has a quieter natural side. A nature trail winds through the property, while approximately 23.6 acres are maintained as preserve. These areas provide opportunities for productions looking for greenery, walking trails, natural backgrounds, and a less developed environment without leaving the park.
Adjacent to the park is the Joseph R. Russo Athletic Complex and the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis & Pickleball Center, expanding the potential for productions seeking additional sports facilities and tennis or pickleball environments.
The park continues to evolve. A new City-owned indoor fieldhouse is under construction, with an estimated completion in 2028. Once complete, the facility is planned to include 18 pickleball courts, 12 volleyball courts, six basketball courts, family picnic areas, pavilions, and a playground, adding another significant production environment to the district park complex.
Scout's Note: The Gardens North County District Park is particularly valuable for productions needing a modern, meticulously maintained sports and recreation environment with multiple looks in one location. The combination of lighted athletic fields, playgrounds, splash pads, covered pavilions, nature trails, preserve areas, and open lawns can support everything from competitive sports and school scenes to family, youth, fitness, and community sequences. The scale of the property also provides room to separate production activity from public recreation when coordinated in advance. Productions should check field availability and maintenance schedules when planning a shoot, as individual fields are periodically closed for scheduled maintenance.
