Florida Entertainment Sales Tax Exemption
Effective January 1, 2001
Any qualified production company producing motion pictures, made for television motion pictures, television series, commercial advertising, music videos, or sound recordings in Florida may be eligible for a sales-and-use tax exemption on certain production related purchases in Florida.
NOTE: Hotel rentals and vehicle rentals are not tax-exempt expenditures. Still photography is not eligible.

- If your address or FEIN has changed since your last certificate, please update your Sunbiz registration before renewing your certificate.
- If your session has timed out and you would like to recover the information you have already entered on the application, you can recover your session.
- Out of state production companies: Verify that the company is registered to do business in the state in which it does principal business on the State Secretary of State’s website.
- Upon approval, you will receive a confirmation email from the Department of Revenue. The certificate will be issued in 2-3 business days. You will receive a PDF of it from the Florida Office of Film & Entertainment. The department of revenue will mail the original to the address provided on the application.
