TOURISM’S MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR IMPACT IN FLORIDA

Florida’s tourism industry set new records, according to the Economic Impact of Tourism study from VISIT FLORIDA.

Out-of-state visitors spent $134.9 billion statewide, generating a total economic impact of $133.6 billion as tourism dollars circulated through local businesses, jobs, and communities. Nearly every dollar spent stayed in Florida, with 99 cents retained in the economy and 59 cents supporting worker wages.

Tourism supported 1.8 million jobs, generated $79.9 billion in wages, and produced $33.6 billion in federal, state, and local tax revenue, saving Florida households an estimated $1,730 annually in state and local taxes alone. Governor Ron DeSantis and VISIT FLORIDA President and CEO Bryan Griffin emphasized that continued investment in destination marketing drives visitation, strengthens Florida’s economy, and delivers lasting benefits to residents statewide.
