TGL GOES PRIME TIME FROM THE PALM BEACHES

Season 2 of TGL, the tech infused golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, returns December 28 with expanded coverage across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2 and the ESPN App. The new season tees off at the state of the art SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, marking the league’s broadcast network debut on ABC and bringing even greater national visibility to this innovative Palm Beach County venue. TGL’s unique blend of live competition, virtual course play and real time strategy quickly won over audiences in its inaugural season. According to Nielsen, season 1 averaged 513,000 viewers per match on ESPN platforms, a 21 percent increase over the programming it replaced. The season’s most watched moment came when 1.05 million viewers tuned in for Tiger Woods’ highly anticipated debut with Jupiter Links GC, underscoring the excitement surrounding the league. Running through March 24, Season 2 features 15 regular season matches, high energy playoffs and a best of three Finals. “ESPN has embraced TGL from the beginning,” said Rosalyn Durant, ESPN Executive Vice President, Programming and Acquisitions. “It delivered everything we had hoped for in its first season, including strong competition and one of the youngest audiences in sports.”

“TGL presented by SoFi returns with an elevated experience for fans at SoFi Center and those watching at home,” added Mike McCarley, Founder and CEO of TMRW Sports and TGL. New enhancements in fan engagement and in venue presentation will also debut throughout the season. Woods returns to competition January 13, with his long awaited matchup against McIlroy set for March 1 following the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches.
