Norton Museum Partners with Subtropic Film Fest

WPB, FL – The organizers behind Subculture Film Fest are excited to announce a transformative partnership with Afflux Studios, as the festival undergoes a rebranding to become Subtropic Film Fest.

Over the past two years, the creative directors of Subculture Film Fest, José Jesús Zaragoza and Noelia Solange, and the entire film fest team, have curated a festival experience that has attracted hundreds of filmmakers to West Palm Beach.

The rebrand was carefully considered by the film fest team as a way of maintaining its core identity, while looking to the future that seeks to be ever-more inclusive of all South Florida voices.

“Subtropic Film Fest captures more of our region’s identity, and allows us to widen our scope and focus to include more films from throughout South Florida,” said Zaragoza. “As we continue growing our audience and our programming, the name also reflects the beauty of our region and encourages visitors to come to West Palm Beach to spend the weekend with us in a beautiful paradise.”

The partnership with Afflux Studios, which operates Gstar Studios and a Hollywood-style soundstage in Palm Beach County, is a no-brainer, says festival organizers.

Noelia Solange expressed her enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, "Afflux Studios, and Bobby Keegan and Joey Ambrose, have been an integral part of our journey, and we are thrilled to have them as partners in Subtropic Film Fest.”

Other partners include the Norton Museum of Art. Noelia said, “We also owe much of our success to our supportive partnership with the Norton Museum of Art and to the South Florida film community who came together to make year two happen. And that’s something to be grateful for. ”

In just two short years, Subculture Film Fest achieved groundbreaking success in programming, venues, and community engagement. The festival brought the filmmaking community to West Palm Beach and played a pivotal role in uniting Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami filmmakers, providing a space for quality films and fostering opportunities for networking and collaboration among South Florida artists.
