NBC’s Today Show recently highlighted an increase in shark populations off the coast of Florida and California, filming live stand-ups with host Kerry Sanders in Jupiter. The segments celebrates the success of the Marine Animal Protection Act that has brought about promising indications that shark populations are able to thrive and grow in our oceans. Sanders reiterates how misunderstood sharks can be do to their representations in horror films like Jaws, but that their presence is important to the marine environment and beachgoers are safe as long as they respect guidelines for safe swimming.
