REEL REVIVAL AT THE LAKE THEATRE

The Cultural Council for Palm Beach County honors the 85th anniversary of the historic Lake Theatre with the launch of Lake Theatre Revival Series, a four-part film celebration held on select Friday nights at the Council’s headquarters in downtown Lake Worth Beach. Originally designed in 1940 by Florida architect Roy A. Benjamin, the 1,000-seat Lake Theatre has evolved through generations of cinematic history before becoming the Council’s permanent home in 2012.

“The Lake Theatre Revival Series reflects our commitment to celebrating Palm Beach County’s rich history and diverse arts,” said Dave Lawrence, the Council’s President and CEO. The free series opened Oct. 24 with a screening of His Girl Friday, and continues with Subtropic Film Festival Winners on Dec. 12, The Wiz on Feb. 6, and Citizen Kane on Apr. 3, blending classic and contemporary cinema in a tribute to local culture and community.
