PALM BEACH COUNTY FILM AND TELEVISION COMMISSION REPORTS THIRD YEAR OF INDUSTRY BREAKING RECORDS
March 05, 2025
PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (March 5, 2025) The Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission (FTC) reports production in 2024 generated over a quarter billion dollars in revenue. $253M in local expenditures marks three consecutive years of record-breaking production numbers and a +3% increase over 2023’s record-breaking year.
This benchmark was calculated through the FTC’s annual outreach survey, with 96 of 162 local production related companies responding. Furthermore, total production in 2024 increased by 18% year-over-year (YOY), rising from 498 projects in 2023 to 591 projects in 2024. This past year, Palm Beach County welcomed production crews from across the map – everywhere from California to New York from Toronto to the United Kingdom. With this, the FTC tracked an 18% jump YOY in hotel room nights, to 17,937 in 2024.
This increase highlights the demand for filming in Palm Beach County (PBC) and attests to the area’s growing status as a premier location for content creation. With 39 municipalities making up the vibrant community, the FTC works diligently with local officials and stakeholders to support production with customer-centric services, free one-stop permitting, and seamless assistance. Providing a smooth, hassle-free and professionally supported shoot in The Palm Beaches.
Visiting production crews added to visitation, spending, and overall economic impact to Palm Beach County in 2024. Working with the Tourist Development Council agencies – Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB), Sports Commission, Cultural Council, and Convention Center – The Palm Beaches attracted more visitors than ever. DTPB - the County’s official tourism marketing organization, reported total visitation in 2024 at 9.9 million visitors (a +4.6% increase from 9.48 million in 2023), total spending at $7.2 billion (a +2.7% increase from $7.1 billion in 2023), and total economic impact at $10.5 billion (a +1.9% increase from $10.3 billion in 2023).
In addition, production leads grew by 34% YOY while lead conversions increased by 165%, which is directly due to the FTC incorporating new, enhanced strategies to generate viable leads that convert to business. Throughout the year, FTC Staff focused on targeted follow-ups, personalized location recommendations, and strengthened relationships with key production partners. This hands-on approach led to 130 conversions from 206 leads, equaling a 63% conversion rate.
Worldwide production companies, along with more than 160 indigenous production-related businesses, continue to take advantage of Palm Beach County’s stunning landscapes—from 47 miles of pristine coastline in the east to the sprawling Everglades to the west. The region offers an unmatched variety of camera-ready locations, effortlessly blending natural beauty with urban charm.
“Palm Beach County offers an extraordinary range of cinematic locations, from breathtaking beaches to lush wetlands and dynamic cityscapes, making it a true paradise for filmmakers,” says Film Commissioner Michelle Hillery. “Despite the absence of a statewide tax incentive program, with year-round sunshine, seamless one-stop permitting, and a commitment to a film-friendly environment, The Palm Beaches remain a top choice for productions.”
Beyond its scenic backdrops, The Palm Beaches boast a thriving production infrastructure, featuring nearly 20 studios and soundstages, six major news affiliates, and cutting-edge facilities, including LED walls, insert stages, and recording studios. Filmmakers have access to state-of-the-art technology, such as chroma key green and white screen cycloramas, in-house 2D and 3D graphics, animation, editing suites, lighting grids, and top-tier camera and audio equipment. With a strong network of industry professionals, local talent, and statewide partners, the production industry in The Palm Beaches continues to grow, strengthen, and thrive.
The vast volume of 2024 productions included high-profile projects such as Amazon’s upcoming documentary on First Lady Melania Trump and the Netflix docuseries Polo. Unscripted TV continues to choose The Palm Beaches with shows like Bar Rescue (Paramount), 90 Day Fiancé (TLC), House Hunters (HGTV), and Military Makeover (Lifetime).
Other notable productions include Goldi Films’ Baby, Giannetti Films’ Our Family Pride, JC Films’ Pickleball Pandemonium, Volpe Media’s My Florita, Flicker Productions’ true crime docuseries - The Killer Clown, and MoviesMakingADifference’s CARMELITA.
Additionally, brands like Nike, Adidas, UPS, New Balance, Performance Golf, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, Gillette, Ron Jon Surf Shop, Buick, Lincoln Motor Company, and Men’s Wearhouse filmed commercial campaigns in PBC, while designers like Bergdorf Goodman, Kenny Flowers, Julie Vos, and Veronica Beard also selected the County for photoshoots.
Palm Beach County also plays host to an exciting lineup of televised sporting events, which brings expansive teams of production professionals and crew members charged with ensuring the national and international broadcast and streaming coverage. Events include the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, Winter Equestrian Festival, Major League Baseball Spring Training, Delray Beach Open, Florida Atlantic University sports, American Cornhole League Kick-Off Battle and TNT Sports’ The Match.
This wide variety of projects showcases the area’s appeal to major studios, independent filmmakers, globally recognized sporting events, photographers, and creative professionals of all kinds. With its blend of luxury and versatility, The Palm Beaches continue to be a leading destination for productions of all scales and styles.
The FTC also manages the County’s official tourism channel, The Palm Beaches TV (PBTV).
