Palm Beach County Announces Summer 2016 “Adventure Awaits” Event Series

Palm Beach County’s Department of Environmental Resources Management (ERM) invites the public to experience the wild beauty of the county’s natural areas through its event series titled “Adventure Awaits.” This schedule marks the second season for the event series. With 13 events scheduled from late May to August, there are many opportunities to interact with ERM naturalists as they lead cycling and paddling tours, a swamp tromp, teach nature photography skills and hike with fireflies. New this season are two “Yoga in the Natural Areas” events at which an ERM naturalist will lead a short hike to a serene location where the group will be led by a certified yoga instructor, and three “Growing Up Wild” events which aim to inspire children and their parents to connect with nature.

“We have seen a tremendous response to our first season of Adventure Awaits, and are excited about the new opportunities that we are adding for our second season,” said Rob Robbins, Director of ERM. “These events are a fantastic way of introducing people to our natural areas and giving them a level of comfort when returning and exploring on their own.”
