A Locally Filmed Holiday Rom-Com Boosts Palm Beach County’s Film Production Industry While Spreading Christmas Cheer

 

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (November 14, 2024) – It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, with The Palm Beaches on full display!  Night Dove Pictures is excited to announce the official release of Christmas Overtime, a feature film filled with unexpected romance and enchanting ambiance, filmed entirely in Palm Beach County, Florida. Produced and directed by Ann Deborah Fishman, Christmas Overtime follows the story of an out-of-work actress hired by a work-obsessed ad executive on Christmas Eve to rally his team, only to discover he’s the man of her dreams.

Christmas Overtime highlights more than an inspiring holiday tale.  Beyond the screen, the production invigorated the local economy and utilized Palm Beach County’s talented film crews and picturesque locations. With support from the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission (FTC) when filming took place during the 2022 holiday season, production was kept entirely local, utilizing local cast and crew members and creating snowfalls of economic impact throughout the County.

Production in Palm Beach County in 2023 generated $247M in local expenditures, marking back-to-back years of record-breaking production numbers and a 3% increase over 2022’s record-breaking year.  

Having worked closely with Christmas Overtime’s production team, the FTC played Santa’s helper by finding and securing many of the film’s iconic locations, coordinating off-duty police details, issuing permits and ensuring a smooth production process. Fishman says, "Christmas Overtime is a homage to the subtropical paradise of West Palm Beach, where Christmastime is always so beautiful and magical. The film was made entirely in Palm Beach County with the immeasurable help of the Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission, headed by Film Commissioner Michelle Hillery, who I hold in the highest esteem and regard.”

The film’s story unfolds among the sparkling backdrops of downtown West Palm Beach, with scenes spotlighting locations along Flagler Drive, Clematis Street, Australian Avenue, CityPlace (Rosemary Square), and the festive fountains and 700-ton Sandi Holiday Tree in Nancy M. Graham Centennial Square along the glowing waterfront. The film also features scenes shot in the city of Lake Worth Beach, at the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County, Inc.’s Annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade, Charlie and Joe’s Love Street in Jupiter, Christ Fellowship Church at Trinity in Palm Beach Gardens, retail locations Tree Towne Christmas Trees (Military Trail) and Christmas, Etc. (Congress Avenue) in West Palm Beach, and on the Yellow Line trolley.  All locations were specifically curated to bring the seasonal spirit to life while showcasing the County’s diverse range of locations.

Co-written by Fishman and Simon Kyle Parker, the film stars Meghan Carrasquillo and Adam Brudnicki, with Mia Matthew, Rene Lavan, Jadon Cal, and Laura Ault co-starring.  Other leading credits include Executive Producers Eric S. Fishman and Michael Fishman, Associate Producer Jerry Sommer and Director of Photography Nicolas Jullian.

Earlier this year, Christmas Overtime premiered at the Marché du Film at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival in France, courtesy of Elias Axume - CEO of Premiere Entertainment and distributor of the film, and secured national and international distribution deals, promising to bring global audiences a glimpse of tropical charm and holiday warmth of South Florida. Christmas Overtime is now available to stream on VUDU, Direct TV, and will be available soon on Amazon’s Prime Video, offering the perfect way to ring in the holidays with Palm Beach County’s magic on full display.  It is also scheduled to become available on NBC’s Peacock in early February 2025.
