MANGO INN TELLS A STORY OF RESILIENCE

Women-led 1025 Production Company held  a cast & crew screening  of their feature film, Mango Inn at the Movies of Lake Worth theater. Following the success of A Rose in Concrete, the film explores themes of resilience, identity, and redemption through the lens of Black, Afro-Latino, and Caribbean family life.

Written and directed by Charmain Johnson, the story centers on “Gina”, a woman navigating hardship while rediscovering purpose through culture, connection, and the healing power of food. Filmed locally at the Mango Inn Bed & Breakfast in Lake Worth Beach, the production highlights the area’s distinctive coastal charm.

The film continues the company’s mission to amplify underrepresented voices through authentic storytelling rooted in empathy, heritage, and human connection. “My hope is that Mango Inn reminds audiences that sometimes the smallest acts of grace, a meal, a chance, a conversation, can change a life,” said Johnson.
