LOCAL ACTOR JEVON WHITE HOSTS CATAPULT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The four-day festival to showcases films from around the globe

 

RIVIERA BEACH, FL. (November 10, 2024)—Local and international Actor Jevon White is taking center stage for the Inaugural Catapult International Film Festival at the Riviera Beach Marina. This transformative four-day, free event, sponsored by CharACTOR Development, a nonprofit, aims to introduce local students and the film community to the world of film.

This festival offers a great chance to introduce young individuals from underrepresented neighborhoods to the diverse and exciting opportunities in the entertainment industry, encouraging them to aspire for excellence in the field.

"I was born and raised in this community, and many of the kids here don't realize they have the potential to become actors, directors, or storytellers. By bringing this festival to Riviera Beach, I want to show them they can achieve incredible things if they pursue their passions," said Jevon White. "This film festival isn't just about entertainment—it's about sparking dreams, opening eyes to new career paths, and showcasing the talent that already exists in this community and the City of Riviera Beach."

For many young people, seeing what is possible can be transformative. By exploring new stories and careers, they realize their circumstances do not dictate their future. The festival highlights the importance of diversity and representation in the arts, showing that all voices and talents are valued.

This year's festival offers an immersive experience with a diverse selection of films from around the world. Beginning on November 14, it will feature inspiring documentaries and impactful dramas. On November 15, high school students from the community will engage in workshops led by award-winning screenwriter Kimberly Smith. Each evening, movies will be streamed beginning around 8 p.m.

On Saturday, November 16, participants will start their day with an early morning fitness workout session led by actor Victor V. Osborne. There will also be screenings of short films, trailers, reels, and documentaries before the 8 p.m. streaming of the movie Kiss of Death with Jevon White. 

Finally, on November 17, the participants will enjoy a day of fun in the sun on Peanut Island. Entry is free, but registration is required by clicking here or heading over to Eventbrite and searching Catapult International Film Festival.

Friday, November 15 - Flamingo Heist - Streaming at 8 p.m.

Saturday, November 16 – Screenings of short films, trailers, reels, documentaries, and Kiss of Death at 8 p.m.

Sunday, November 17 - Peanut Island Day of Fun
