IN MEMORIAM: ALEXANDER W. DREYFOOS

The legendary innovator and philanthropist A.W. Dreyfoos was a pioneer in photography, inventor, development engineer, local television station owner, and an Academy Award winner for developing the Video Negative Color Analyzer that Hollywood adopted for filmmaking.

The spirit of Mr. Dreyfoos will live on in the students who receive training at the internationally recognized and acclaimed A.W. Dreyfoos School of the Arts whose digital media students regularly participate in Florida’s largest student film completion, The Palm Beaches Student Showcase of Films. Locally he will be remembered for his tireless work to grow art and culture in our community and for founding what is now called the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County. His vision and generous donations helped grow The Palm Beaches into the world-class destination we call home.
