G-Star Alumni Cast In Movie At G-Star Studios

Palm Springs, FL—Seven G-Star School of the Arts graduates and 50 G-Star high school students are working on Dream Factory, a five-part TV miniseries which is currently in production at G-Star Studios, which is a subsidiary of the school, according to Greg Hauptner, CEO and founder.

“They called me for Dream Factory in New York and told me it was shooting in West Palm Beach,” said Nohely Rose, who graduated in 2007 from the G-Star Drama Department and has been working as an actress in New York City for 10 years. “I said, ‘Fantastic, I’ll just stay at my parents’ house.’ Then I asked where the shoot was, and they said ‘G-Star Studios.’ That’s my high school! I couldn’t believe it.”

Her resume includes performances in The Get Down on Netflix, Devine Assignment on Off Broadway, True Story on the Discovery Channel and The Harry Connick Show.

Rose joins six other talented G-Star alumni, including Art Director Cheyenne Covington and Set Designer Jaison Harvey, both 2017 graduates who have worked their way into key positions in less than one year. Rounding out the team are Stage Manager Megan Lillard (2013), B-Camera Operator Bobby Keegan (2007), Digital Imaging Technician Eitan Abramowitz (2007) and Construction Supervisor Gregory Hauptner, Jr.  Over 50 G-Star high school students worked on the construction of one of the largest motion picture sets ever built in Palm Beach County for the film.

Created by Maha Guemei and Greg Robbins, Dream Factory is a fantasy action comedy series that centers around the notion that all dreams are manufactured and placed in beings at birth. Unused dreams are returned to the Dream Factory and placed in storage. At the time of death, people are sent to the Dream Factory because everyone has a right to see their unused dreams before going to their final resting place. When a cruel and selfish man dies and is confronted with an unresolved dream, he steals it and escapes the factory; however, he ends up in another body and finds himself in trouble.

Filming of Dream Factory is scheduled to wrap on January 26. Kimber Eastwood, daughter of Clint Eastwood, is an Associate Producer and Greg Robbins is the Director.

“The whole cast and crew is great! It is so much fun,” said Lillard. “G-Star has shown me so many different things I never thought I could do.” Rose agreed, “I love G-Star. It’s the greatest high school anywhere!”

G-Star offers a complete college preparatory education with honors classes, Advanced Placement classes, and the International Baccalaureate World School Programme. Students study in the fields of film production, 3-D animation and acting. The school also trains students in writing, directing, producing, acting and all aspects of film and digital media production in front of and behind the camera, as well as live performance. G-Star is the only arts school in Florida that allows its students’ time on set to be in a professional production for an extended period of time (up to three months).
