FILM FLORIDA FRIDAY SPOTLIGHTS LOCAL INCENTIVES

The November 7th Film Florida Fridays session on Local Incentives brought together film commissioners from across the state to discuss how regional programs strengthen Florida’s production and tourism industries. Panelists Sandy Lighterman (Film Lauderdale), Quinn Chittenden (St. Pete–Clearwater), Michelle Hillery (Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission), and Todd Roobin (Jacksonville Film & Television Office) outlined how their incentives support local talent, crew, small businesses, and destination marketing. Michelle Hillery highlighted Palm Beach County’s investment in local television production through the Sponsorship and Development Program and The Palm Beaches TV. She noted PBTV’s growing visibility, including national exposure for local businesses, daily segments on South Florida Daily, and the PBTV NOW YouTube channel hosted by ESPN’s Theo Dorsey. She also emphasized the importance of collaboration among Florida film offices to keep production strong statewide.
