Faith-Based Film Conference Brings Investing, Distribution Opportunities To Orlando
November 04, 2022
Filmmakers, investors, distributors, streaming networks and crew are converging on Orlando November 16-19 for the ICVM Storytellers Conference.
The conference offers three major events to help filmmakers get investors for their company, find a production partner for their screenplay, or find distribution for their movie, TV show, or documentary.
The INVESTORS LIONS DEN (Nov. 17th) features a Shark-Tank-like Christian investor group, Lion’s Den DFW, taking presentations from Christian film-related companies starting up or looking to expand. These include production companies, studios, post houses, VFX facilities, and more. Attendees will learn how to prepare for approaching investors, and a few will make formal presentations to the investors.
The Script & Story Pitch-a-thon (Nov. 18th) brings filmmakers with scripts or stories together one-on-one with producers and distributors looking for new material.
The Christian Film Market (Nov. 19th) brings filmmakers with ready-to-distribute movies, TV shows or documentaries together with 16 distributors, networks and exhibitors looking for content, including Sony Provident, Fathom events, Pure Flix, BMG Global, Vision Video & CanZion. If you’re looking to license or re-license rights to content you created, this is the place.
Surrounding those events are seminars and speakers educating up filmmakers, including Troy Miller, president of NRB, and Ben Howard, president of Third Coast Content, Impact Foundation, and former head of Sony Provident Films.
The hit TV series, THE CHOSEN, will screen their first two episodes of Season 3 as a sneak preview during the conference, and the Sr. VP of Angel Studios’ distribution, Jared Geesey, will be there for Q&A.
‘A Waltons Thanksgiving’ actress Tatum Matthews, who plays the daughter ‘Erin’, will be participating in an acting seminar with ‘Overcomer’ co-star Cameron Arnett. The movie premieres Nov. 30th on CW Network.
All events are included in the registration price, plus day rates and specials for students and teachers.
Florida’s former State Film Commissioner (2005-2008), Paul Sirmons, a producer/director, is the current president of the non-profit ICVM, which represents about 2,500 Christian filmmakers around the world. “There’s a big demand for family and faith films out there, and we’re trying to help fill that pipeline by creating better filmmakers who create better God-honoring films,” Sirmons said.
