EDUCATION CORNER: STUDENT SHOWCASE OF FILMS SUBMISSIONS CLOSING SOON

The countdown is officially on for Florida’s young filmmakers and digital storytellers. Submissions for the 2026 Palm Beaches Student Showcase of Films will close Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2026, which means students have a little less than one month left to finalize their projects and get them submitted. Entry is completely free for current Florida high school and college students, including homeschooled students, making this a valuable opportunity to gain recognition without barriers.

The Showcase features a wide range of categories. Students can enter poster design, documentary, screenplays, feature/short films, music videos, animation, commercial or environmental PSAs, and the always popular Palm Beach County Tourism PSA sponsored by Discover The Palm Beaches.

With more than $30,000 dollars in scholarships, cash awards, and prizes, this is one of the strongest platforms in the state for emerging creatives to shine. Palm Beach County high school seniors can compete for the prestigious Burt Reynolds Scholarship which support students pursuing careers in film, television, and digital media. Winners will be honored at a red carpet celebration on Friday, May 1, 2026, at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre. Celebrating 31 years, this event welcomes students, families, teachers, and state dignitaries for an unforgettable showcase of Florida talent.
