EDUCATION CORNER: STUDENT SHOWCASE OF FILMS' DEADLINE APPROACHING

As the new year begins, the deadline for entries to The Palm Beaches Student Showcase of Films (SSOF) is near! Students have until Wednesday, February 5, 2025 to submit projects in categories like Screenwriting, Tourism PSA, Music Video, and more. The competition is free to enter and is open to all student filmmakers, graphic designers, writers, and digital media artists currently enrolled in Florida high schools or colleges, including those who are homeschooled. In honor of celebrating 30 years in 2025, the competition will award more than $30K in cash, scholarships and prizes.

Palm Beach County high school seniors are eligible to apply for the Burt Reynolds Scholarship, and runners up will receive the Film Florida Sara Fuller Scholarship, Mel Maron Scholarship, Gray Family, Scholarship and Dr. B. Carleton Bryant Scholarship. Meanwhile, the SSOF is proud to continue the Palm Beach County Tourism PSA Award, sponsored by Discover The Palm Beaches, showcasing all the reasons why The Palm Beaches provide Florida’s finest travel experience.

The red-carpet rolls on out on Friday, April 25, 2025 at the Maltz Jupiter Theatre, where three decades of student filmmaking excellence will be celebrated with a live award show.
