CURL POWER: KITTY LUNDAN HELPS CHANGE THE NARRATIVE

The Talented Teen Club (TTC) hosted a powerful CROWN Act event in West Palm Beach on June 7, celebrating natural hair and promoting anti-discrimination legislation. The event gathered students, entrepreneurs and community leaders in support of the CROWN Act, which protects individuals from hairstyle discrimination.

Two community trailblazers were honored with CROWN Act Awards, including Melanie Roger, who champions culture and the next generation of entrepreneurs. Kenya "Kitty Lundan" Madison, a prominent TV personality and host of The Palm Beaches TV show What’s Poppin’ PBC? also received a CROWN Act Award. 

When asked about the achievement, Ms. Lundan said she “wears her crown not to rule over others, but to remind the world that strength, grace, and power can walk in heels or boots.” Her words reflect the power of community advocacy and its ability to inspire change.

Through PBTV, local stories receive broader exposure, encouraging public engagement and support. Lundan’s series What’s Poppin’ PBC? showcases this impact and recent episodes “Hola PBC!” and “Poppin’ Events” show some of the many regional stories captured in the series.
