AMAZON MGM SETS RELEASE FOR “MELANIA” TRUMP DOCUMENTARY

Amazon MGM Studios announced Melania will premiere in theaters on Jan. 30, 2026, with a Prime Video release to follow. Portions of the documentary were filmed while Melania Trump was staying at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach with local production supported by the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission, which assisted with filming logistics and crew basecamp coordination.

The feature documentary will also be supported by a three-part docuseries that documents the creative process and production timeline. The film follows the 20 days leading up to the presidential inauguration, a period that included travel between New York City, Palm Beach and Washington, D.C. The documentary is directed by Brett Ratner, known for Rush Hour, Tower Heist, Red Dragon and Money Talks, and was created with Melania's participation. She’s also credited as a producer.

Early descriptions indicate that the film explores her day-to-day responsibilities during the transition period as she prepared for the move to the White House, which included establishing her staff and shaping the First Lady’s office. The release coincides with Melania’s announcement that she has launched her own production company, Muse Films. Muse was reportedly her Secret Service code name during President Donald Trump’s first term in office.

In a statement shared on her official social media channels, she introduced the company with a branded video and noted that its first project is this upcoming documentary. With studio-level distribution, new investment and Palm Beach County locations, Melania elevates the region’s national documentary presence and reinforces its appeal to filmmakers.
