About Mel Maron
It is well known that Mel Maron had an illustrious career in the entertainment industry.  He started with MGM in 1949 and became a Road Show Sales Manager. He then distributed a long list of hit films including Dr. Zhivago, Gone With The Wind (20mm Re-release), 2001: A Space Odyssey, and How the West Was Won.  After leaving MGM, Mel went on to become CEO of World Northal, President of Cinema Shares Theatrical Division, Senior Vice President of Common Wealth United, and then President of Marketing & Distribution for Castle Hill Productions until the company was sold in 2006. Mel was also a member of the Executive Division of the Association of the Academy of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. When he moved to Florida, Mel served on the Committee for Young Filmmakers and was a long-time Board member of the Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. In 2012, Mel was honored with a special recognition award at the Student Showcase of Films for his unwavering support of the arts and education.
