Coming off a recent win at the 44th Annual Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards for WLRN’s Troubled Waters: A Turtle’s Tale, documentary filmmaker Rory Fielding is in production on a new project titled Plasti-Pocalypse. In collaboration with the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center (GLNC) in Boca Raton, the documentary focuses on plastic pollution and its effects on our oceans, animals and humans. “It wasn’t easy filming endangered sea turtles for Troubled Waters, now I’m crazy enough to try it again! These projects wouldn’t be possible without the help of local experts like those at the GLNC, and it’s an honor to showcase the important work that they do,” said Rory. Plasti-Pocalypse is set for distribution on South Florida PBS, and is funded by grants and individual donations. Support the effort at roryfieldingfilms.com.
