BAD BOYS 2 CALLS IT A WRAP IN DELRAY BEACH.

The highly anticipated sequel to Bad Boys finally wrapped filming at the end of SeptemberBad Boys 2 began filming in Delray Beach on September 13th and wrapped on September 30, 2002.  The filming was a huge success and provided Delray Beach its moment to shine.  With the help of the gracious community of Delray Beach the making of this film became a reality.  Bad Boys 2 brought in a total of 800+ room nights to the Delray Beach Marriott, Highland Beach Holiday Inn, The Colony Hotel and Cabana Club and many local businesses benefited from the crews as well.  The Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission (FTC) applaud Delray Beach’s efforts and are honored to have such qualified and professional people living in our community. Be sure to check your local listings next Summer for Bad Boys 2 at a movie theater near you!

TALBOTS RETURNS TO PALM BEACH COUNTY! (Top)

Ashleigh Banfield’s “Across America” tour bus pulled into Boca Raton to report on the government’s new work at the American Media headquarters which was contaminated by anthrax last September.  Ashleigh’s tour began in Seattle on August 12, 2002 and ended in New York on September 11, 2002 Ashleigh visited several cities that were affected by the aftermath of September 11th.  The show airs on MSNBC Monday through Thursday at 10 p.m.

Talbots shot at CityPlace and Juno Beach for several weeks in September  to showcase their new Spring collection.  This is Talbots second time shooting in Palm Beach County (PBC) this year. Verna Shore of Locations Extrordinaire scouted for Talbots and secured the shoot for PBC.  Talbots spent a total of 250 room nights at the beautiful Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach.

Hanna Anderson revisits West Palm Beach to shoot their Spring catalog at CityPlace.  Hanna Anderson Producer Andrea Coop stated: “We’re thrilled to be shooting in CityPlace again.  We love the European look and the fountains are extraordinary.”  The catalog will be distributed in-homes in January 2003Hanna Anderson discovered CityPlace through Jupiter‘s Pitter Patter Productions.  Pitter Patter Productions shot Hanna Anderson’s first catalog at CityPlace in August

Loni Anderson is cooking healthy while Dan Marino takes the guys on a journey around the country.  Modern Cuisine hosted by Loni Anderson provides tips on healthy eating.  Dan Marino’s show In Motion offers a guy’s version of where to travel, restaurants to frequent, and  things to keep your life in motion.  Both shows are currently being shot at Palm Beach Ocean Studios by Director/Producer Mike Kirton.  The shows were originally set in Miami, but thanks to Mike Kirton they’re shooting in PBC!

Open Air Productions receives high marks! (Top)
Congratulations to Open Air Productions and Conde Nast Traveler for their new show Insider’s Guide.  This new travel show will feature Palm Beach County in its fifth episode.  Insider’s Guide is in syndication with PBS and has been picked up by: New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and Houston.  The travel show will be in 40 million households and counting beginning this Fall.

Olympia Devine,
owner of Devine Talent and Charlie Dunn, creator of Starz of the Future, are teaming up to educate locals on the do’s and don’ts of the entertainment industry. In its third year, Starz of the Future is looking for talented Floridians who will be featured in an exciting program showcasing aspiring talent in three categories.  Kids 6-12years, Teens 13-19 years and Adults. Viewfinder Films
recently shot a half-hour piece documenting French Filmmaker Jerome Diamantberger’s screening his Grandfather, Henri Diamantberger’s, original 1920s silent movie The 3 Muskateers.  The original film was recently found after being confiscated by the Nazis during World War II

Film Florida attends tradeshow.

Film Florida
along with FTC Production Coordinator Jason Goldman will attend the Production East tradeshow in New York this month.  Production East provides an excellent opportunity for Florida to promote their many locations. A look back at former interns.
The FTC is happy to report the success of several interns after completing the FTC internship programJohn Bernardo worked in Los Angeles for several years at Oxygen and has now returned to teach at Pope John Paul High School in Boca Raton.  Jason Banguela secured a job with Information Television Network as a grip/video dubberPaul Lambrakis is currently working at the Teaching Learning Network as a freelance writer/producer.  The FTC is thrilled with the success of our two phase structured internship program over the last 10 years.  For more information regarding the internship program call: 561.233.1000.


The FTC welcomes three new interns!
The FTC is pleased to have Ashley Owens, Alastair Hunt, and John Flores join our office. Ashley’s aspirations are to continue a career in acting and become a producer. Alastair is taking a semester off from Mitchell College in Connecticut to discover entertainment opportunities. John Flores, a recent graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, decided to enroll in the program to learn more about the industry!
