NEW PRODUCTION FOLLOWS RECORD SETTING YEAR IN 2002! |

The
Palm Beach County Film and Television Commission (FTC)
released the 2002 Production Activity Report this month.
The FTC reported $134,876,126 in
production revenue
which is an increase of 5%
from 2001. Jimmy Buffet, Celine Dion, Dan Marino and
Loni Anderson came to Palm Beach County to
shoot
their latest projects at the largest studio in the
Southeastern United States, Palm Beach Ocean Studios.
The FTC had a total of 70 companies report this
year exceeding the 59 companies that reported in 2001.
After the departure of the action-thriller Bad Boys 2,
Palm Beach County (PBC) received its first independent
feature for 2003! Shut Up And Kiss Me, the
highly anticipated indie film chose to shoot in PBC as a
direct result of the 2002 Palm Beach International
Film Festival (PBIFF). The cast and crew began their
rigorous shooting schedule in the beginning of January
throughout the county.
Chuck
Elderd, FTC Film Commissioner, stated: “The key components
to the continued industry growth remains the talented
entrepreneurs who operate Palm Beach County’s studio
production facilities and the growing relationship with the
Palm Beach International Film Festival.” Don’t forget to
mark your calendars for the 2003 PBIFF beginning April
3rd through April 10th! |
