GREAT HOTELS PREMIERES IN JANUARY!!

The Great Hotels series produced by the Travel Channel will expose the unspeakable beauty and history of The Breakers Hotel and Hotel Biba. The Travel Channel selected The Breakers Hotel and Hotel Biba to represent two of the greatest hotels in a class described as classic elegant or urban-revival. The segment on The Breakers Hotel will premiere on the Travel Channel on January 13, 2003 at 11:30am.  Exactly one week later, on January 20, 2003 at 11:30am, Hotel Biba will display their vast appeal to the viewers as well.  Jerry Smith, Executive Producer of Great Hotels for the Travel Channel, stated during his visit to Palm Beach County (PBC) in August:  “Both The Breakers Hotel and Hotel Biba were authentic representations of what Palm Beach County has to offer.”  Be sure to watch the Great Hotels series on the Travel Channel next year! 


SHUT UP AND KISS ME ... (Top)

The highly anticipated indie film Shut Up And Kiss Me began pre-production in West Palm Beach in November.  The film is planning to begin shooting throughout PBC next year.  Writers/Producers Howard Flamm and Steve Chase chose PBC as their filming destination after attending the Palm Beach International Film Festival (PBIFF) in April 2002Flamm and Chase have collaborated with Suzanne DeLaurentiis to produce the film

PAX TV JOINS PARENT COMPANY IN PBC. (Top)

Our very own West Palm Beach’s PAX TV welcomed many new faces in November as PAX’s office in Studio City, California began consolidating their operations back to PBC.  This decision was made at the end of OctoberPAX TV’s spokeswoman Nancy Udell stated: “We’re just looking at making operations run more efficient.  It’s more cost-effective to be in one place.”  Employees in the California office were given the option of relocating to the West Palm Beach office in November.  To find out more about PAX TX’s latest projects log onto: www.paxtv.com.

Lion Country Safari provides a “film friendly” location that allows its guests to experience the danger of the wild from the safety of their car.  Lion Country Safari has been highlighted as a filming paradise on Travel Channel on numerous occasions.  Most recently, Donny Osmond came to Lion Country Safari to shoot his family’s vacation. All Star Locations’ Lisa Collomb received high praise in the November 2002 Production Update issueCollomb was featured as one of the top location managers in South Florida.  Collomb has been a location manager in Florida since 1998 and has worked many facets of the entertainment business.  Collomb’s most recent job was finding the perfect location for P. Child Magazine can’t get enough of Palm Beach County!  (Top)
As many magazines have discovered, Palm Beach County provides many extraordinary locations for photo shoots.  Child Magazine recently shot at Jupiter Park in November for their 2003 Spring catalog. During their stay, Child Magazine resided at the Jupiter Beach Resort for a total of six days. Check stands for the 2003 Spring issue of Child Magazine.

Appleseed’s Catalog shoots at Mizner Park. (Top)
The latest photo shoot to grace the sidewalks of Mizner Park was for Appleseed’s catalog.  Appleseed’s spent a total of two days shooting and over 70 hotel rooms at the Boca Raton Hotel and Resort Appleseed’s is no stranger to Palm Beach County.  The magazine has shot in various locations of PBC over the last few years.  To view the latest Appleseed’s fashions go to:  www.appleseeds.com

Sarah Parker Modeling provided models for PUMA’s latest fashions on November 14, 2002, on Hutchinson IslandEleven models from Sarah Parker were chosen out of hundreds to represent PUMA’s latest creations.

TV’s Senior Vice President of Marketing/Public Relations Lea Sloan
has recently been hired as the new PBS Vice President of Media Relations in Washington, DC.  Sloan has served PAX TV since February 2000.  Sloan will begin her new position at PBS on  December 2, 2002 Sloan is currently an Executive Board member of the FTC Board of Directors and will continue to serve as Secretary while maintaining her home in PBC.

State Film Commissioner Rebecca Dirden Mattingly

Foundation honors locals.
The Community Foundation for Palm Beach and Martin Counties
