Submit your project to the Student Showcase of Films

For all film and screenplay entries; including the compilation reel for the
Burt Reynolds’ Scholarship, you will 
upload your project onto FilmFreeway.
 


 

As a reminder this is Step 3 in a three step process to enter the Student Showcase of Films.
 

If you have not done so already, fill out the APPLICATION which is a two step process.
Once you have completed your online application, you are ready to upload your project.  Please NOTE: Poster Entries are NOT Uploaded onto FilmFreeway, they should be mailed or delivered to our office.

FilmFreeway accepts all major video formats.

Videos are transcoded for playback compatibility and performance.

Recommended Settings:

Maximum video bitrate: 2200 Kbps, H.264, mp4
Audio bitrate: 128 Kbps, AAC

Aspect ratio preserved; Maximum video width of 1280 pixels

The maximum upload file size is 4GB
 
After clicking the "Submit with FilmFreeway" icon above:
  • Click “Submit Now” on the top right of the page and sign up for an account, selecting the “I am a Filmmaker or Screenwriter” option.
     
  • The next page will be titled “Add a Project”. Select whether your project is a "Film/Video" or "Script". Complete all 5 sections, including 1) Project Information, 2) Submitter Contact Information, 3) Credits, 4) Specifications and 5) Past Screenings/Awards.


FOR FILM/VIDEO PROJECTS

  • On the following page, you will have the option to upload your film from a file or submit a url link. If you are uploading a file, please ensure that it complies with the FilmFreeway file size specifications (smaller than 4GB). If you submit a url, please be sure it is a not a protected link and can be opened by the judges for review.
     
  • Click “Submit Now” at the top right of this page.
  • Choose a category and select “Add to Cart & Checkout” at the bottom of the screen. There are no submission fees, so you will not need to provide any payment information.
     
  • On the next page in the “Cart Summary” section, you may add a cover letter for your project. While this is optional, please note that our judges can review your cover letter, you may choose to set up your film here or provide background.  Select “Complete Submission” at the bottom of the page.


FOR SCREENPLAYS

  • On the following page, you will digitally upload your screenplay.
     
  • Click “Submit Now” at the top right of this page.
     
  • Choose the "Screenwriting" category and select “Add to Cart & Checkout” at the bottom of the screen. There are no submission fees, so you will not need to provide any payment information.
     
  • On the next page in the “Cart Summary” section, you may add a cover letter for your project While this is optional, please note that our judges can review your cover letter, you may choose to set up your film here or provide background.  Select “Complete Submission” at the bottom of the page.


FOR ALL SUBMISSIONS

  • Once your submission is complete, you will receive an email confirmation and can view frequently asked questions on the FilmFreeway confirmation page.
     
  • You can view, edit, and manage your project details at any time by clicking “My Projects” on the main menu on the Film Freeway site.
     
  • If you would like to submit another project to a different category on FilmFreeway, click “My Projects” on the main menu and “Add Project” on the top left of the page. NOTE: Additional entries will require a separate application filled out on our website so that we have your projects, name, run time, tagline, crew etc. for consideration.
     

Please note:
Applicants may be disqualified if criteria requirements are not met.  Judging is based on many factors including meeting the qualification criteria and following instructions.
