Two New Episodes of "Nikon's Birding Adventures" Comes to Destination America

Episodes of the Eco-series Will Also Air on The Palm Beaches TV

WEST PALM BEACH (May 8, 2018) – Two new episodes of the fascinating nature series, Nikon’s Birding Adventures, will premiere on Destination America on Friday, May 11th and Friday, May 18th. Destination America is a digital cable and satellite channel owned by Discovery Communications.

In the episode airing on Friday, May 11th, wildlife enthusiast James Currie visits Palm Beach County’s Lake Okeechobee, the largest lake in Florida and the second largest natural, freshwater lake in the contiguous United States.  Currie and wildlife photographer Bob Branham go in search of brown pelicans.

The pair travel to the western edge of Palm Beach County where they find the white-tailed kite, a rare breed of bird found only in parts of California, Texas and south Florida.

Also, in the episode, avian ecologist Mark Cook of the South Florida Water Management District, takes James on a helicopter ride above the Loxahatchee Wildlife Refuge and over the Big Cypress National Preserve in search of the wood stork.

In the episode airing on Friday, May 18th, James travels to the western edge of Palm Beach County to observe the swallow-tailed kite.  He also watches scissor-tailed flycatchers. Benji Studi of the county’s Environmental Resources Management Department explains the habits of the great horned owl, a major predator to the swallow-tailed kites.

Episodes will also air on The Palm Beach County Tourist Development Council’s channel, The Palm Beaches TV,  a 24/7 streaming platform offering a variety of family-friendly content. The Palm Beaches TV can be seen online, in participating test hotels, and on Roku.

Nikon’s Birding Adventures is produced by local producer Jeff Aderman at AA Video in partnership with The Palm Beach County Film & Television Commission. Aderman has been in Palm Beach County for over 30 years and has produced a variety of national content, including Hooked on the Palm Beaches, a TV series that highlights the best fishing destinations in Palm Beach County.
