ITV
recently inked an exciting deal with Discovery Health
Channel for 26 episodes of the award winning
television show Kids HealthWorks. The
30-minute educational program will begin airing in 2002.
ITV is thrilled with the deal. They have six episodes in
the can already and are hard at work producing the
remaining 20. Most of the production will occur in Palm
Beach County at the ITV studios and area locations.
Recently, KidsHeatlhWorks filmed at Sugar
Sands Park in Boca Raton.
The
show is hosted by Emmy Award winning Wendy Rutledge, an
industry professional with over 20 years experience. She
adds a caring and sensitive dimension to the serious
topics of the show. KidsHealthWorks has
already garnered several prestigious awards, including a
Freddy Award for Pediatrics. The Freddy Awards are
basically the Oscars of health and wellness programming.
ITV competed with the likes of 20/20, Dateline and other
major network productions to walk away winners.
Kids
HealthWorks covers all aspects of
children's health with topics ranging from oral care to
pool safety to Halloween costume safety. Producers also
include emotional health issues for children, like family
economics and divorce.
