The beautiful
Breakers hotel
Palm Beach has a shot
at being named the number one beach in America by
the Travel Channel's annual television show
America's Top Ten Beaches. Out of thousands of
beaches nationwide, Palm Beach was chosen as one of
the top ten. The Travel Channel determines the top
ten and even the production company does not reveal
the winner or even the order of the finalists. The
winner will be announced when the program airs in
March 2002.
In March of each
year, at the beginning of the celestial spring break
season, the Travel Channel hosts the popular
Beach
Week. All of the programming during the week is
beach related. America's Top |
| Ten
Beaches
and the World's Best Beaches are two of the standout
shows during the week.
For America's Top
Ten, the Travel Channel hired Kaos Entertainment, a
Santa Monica, CA based production company. Segment
Producer Sarah Levine spent many weeks researching
and admiring the uniqueness of Palm Beach. "We
try to provide a package that includes the beach,
and as much of the surrounding area as possible. We
try to capture the distinctive qualities of each
beach, including the water, the beach, the locations
around the beach etc," Levine explained.
"We are so lucky that Palm Beach and Palm Beach
County offer so many beautiful, creative and unique
options." |
